Kiber 3 Kit, the multi-feature wearable audio-video device for remote assistance, is now Atex Zone 1 certified and recognized as the right system to use in potentially explosive atmospheres according to Directive 2014/34/EU.
All parts of our Kiber 3 ATEX Kit have been found to comply with the Essential Health and Safety Requirements relating to the design and construction of equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres: our multi-feature wearable head unit (visor and camera), our handcam with thermal capacity for additional points of view and our daylong battery are all compliant with current directives.
Explosive atmospheres can be caused by flammable gases, mists, vapors or by combustible dusts, in combination with oxygen. With a certain concentration level all that is needed to cause an explosion is a source of ignition. According to the IECEx, ATEX and CSA standard for use of electrical equipment in hazardous areas, hazardous areas are classified into zones and each zone has unique characteristics.
A Zone 1 classified area is a place in which an explosive atmosphere consisting of a mixture with air or flammable substances in the form of gas, vapour or mist is likely to occur in normal operation occasionally.
As an experienced manufacturer we have set a Quality System of the Production Process which complies with Article 17 of Directive 2014/34/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, allowing Kiber 3 ATEX Kit to be used in locations such as oil rigs, gas rigs, refineries, maintenance hangars and biogas production plants.
